WHAT IS FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE

WHAT IS FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture originated in China and has been practiced there for thousands of years.  It involves the insertion of very thin needles through the patient’s skin at specific points of the body.  It is known to treat everything from migraines to backaches, fertility problems as well as help to improve the skin on our faces.
When needles are inserted at pressure points, energy and endorphins are released.  This minor trauma improves blood flow and stimulated cell re-growth. Traumatizing the skin by inserting tiny needles will also encourage the production of healing collagen, the protein which the body uses to keep the skin youthful.

WHO IS FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE GOOD FOR?

Facial Acupuncture is a great natural option for those who are concerned with their physical appearance.
If you’re 20-30, this treatment is good as a preventative measure for premature aging and to remain youthful, longer.
From 30-40, your collagen drops and there’s a decline in estrogen which means there is a lack in moisture. Acupuncture will help to stimulate collagen and help rebuild it through the minor trauma experienced through the insertion of needles.
At 40-50+, there is a 30% loss in collagen in the first 5 years after menopause. Results may take longer to be seen due to the slowing down of the skin renewal process and needs commitment and patience to see the full lasting effect of this treatment.
